Utility Coordination and Design Business Class Director

HDR seeks a Utility Coordination and Design Business Class Director to lead technical delivery, quality assurance, and resource management for our Utility Coordination and Design Business Class.
Responsibilities- Monthly Coordination Calls with Business Class leadership and section managers.
- Support ongoing development of the Utility Coordination and Design Business Class.
- Identify upcoming projects and pursuits requiring National Business Class leadership support.
- Review upcoming workload and staff availability.
- Examine utilization reports, identify staffing needs, work with regional leadership/section managers to achieve utilization goals.
- Identify and participate in Project Approach and Resource (PARR) reviews and evaluations.
- Perform project reviews or audits to validate quality practices; review technical and performance issues, develop remedial action.
- Serve as focal point for the Transportation Business Group to deliver Utility Coordination and Design related services in collaboration with complementary Business Groups or Market Sectors.
- Participate in hiring, staff development, communication, technical programs, manage workshare and project assignments.
- Support marketing activities: develop proposals, staffing assignments, identify sub‑consultants.
- Travel nationally for select projects; 15% typical travel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of related experience.
- Professional or Engineering registration and technical experience.
- Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
- Strong cooperation with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
- Commitment to quality, improvement and HDR values.
- Active participant in employee‑owned culture.
Primary location:
United States – Texas – Round Rock. National travel 15% (15–25%).
US: $163,422 – $337,222;
Canada: $209,622 – $313,720 (based on location and experience).
