Advanced Practice Professional - Nurse Practitioner
- Women's Health Psychiatric - Winston Salem

Location:

Winston Salem, NC

Join Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in our new Perinatal Mental Health Program. The role focuses on delivering mental health services to pregnant and postpartum patients while also providing routine gynecologic care.

Essential Functions
  • Provide mental health services, medication management, and psychotherapy.
  • Conduct individual and group therapy for mental health support.
  • Offer resources for needs beyond the scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with leadership and other PMHNPs to develop the new program.
  • Maintain flexibility in hours as the program grows.
  • Perform routine gynecologic care for women across the lifespan (ages 15‑80).
  • Perform procedures as approved on your privileges form.
  • Attend department and sectional meetings as scheduled.
  • Provide patient care and interact with the health care team in a professional manner.
  • Educate varied learners.
Education & Experience
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program.
Licensure, Certification, and Registration
  • Current North Carolina Board of Nursing RN and NP license.
  • Board certified in NP specialty.
  • Certification as PMHNP preferred.
  • Experience as PMHNP preferred.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree as an APP, preference for additional Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner transcript.
  • Licensure as RN and APP in North Carolina.
  • Certification as PMHNP preferred; certification as APP based on schooling.
  • DEA license required to start.
  • BLS, NRP, and ACLS certified for patient care.
