Naph Care is seeking to hire an EMT or Paramedic to join our team of medical professionals in the Forsyth County Detention Center in Winston‑Salem, North Carolina
.
As a Correctional EMT / Paramedic
, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including assessing and treating patients, responding to emergencies, and assisting with medical protocols.

Responsibilities- Respond to emergencies, administer medications, and coordinate with other staff to ensure inmate health and safety.
- Assist with performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems and medication history.
- Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, weight, and draw blood.
- Document medical history including medications, treatment, and medical conditions.
- Assist with the maintenance of medical equipment and supplies within the facility.
- Complete intake screening.
- Administer and read PPD.
- Ensure the safety and security of inmates and staff during medical procedures and transport.
- Observe and report changes in patients’ physical or mental health to nurses.
- Completion of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or a higher‑level Paramedic program.
- Ability to obtain the necessary state licenses for EMT or Paramedic.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must possess an active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
- Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
