Patient Services Coordinator IV

Full Time, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (No weekends or holidays)

At Novant Health, we believe that remarkable care starts with remarkable people. As a Patient Services Coordinator IV, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our patients receive seamless, compassionate, and efficient care from the moment they walk through our doors.

What You’ll Do
  • Schedule surgeries and related appointments accurately and efficiently.
  • Obtain insurance authorizations and verify coverage.
  • Communicate with patients regarding surgery dates, instructions, and financial responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate records in the EPIC system.
  • Coordinate with hospitals, surgical centers, and vendors as needed.
  • Communicate efficiently between clinical, administrative, and surgical teams to ensure seamless workflow.
What We’re Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: Three years of experience in a medical office setting, required. Other related experience may be considered in lieu of medical office experience.
  • Additional Skills (required): Knowledge of medical office software for updating patient demographic information, posting charges, copays, and scheduling patient appointments; understanding of CPT and ICD-9-CM coding processes; excellent verbal communication skills; ability to work with changing priorities; excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills; ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to function as part of a team;

    initiative; basic medical terminology (knowledge can be obtained through formal classes or work experience); high level of working knowledge of EPIC systems; detailed knowledge of multiple payer billing requirements; familiarity of coding requirements for practice specialty.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Proficiency in the use of all computer software utilized in the practice.
