Behavioral Health Care Manager I (3rd Shift - After Hours)

Location: North Carolina

Work Shift: 3rd Shift - Holiday and weekend work are required

Shifts: Monday-Friday 11:30PM-8:00AM

Virtual: This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, except for required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. Responsible for managing psychiatric and substance abuse or substance use disorder facility-based and outpatient professional treatment health benefits through telephonic or written review.

• Presents appropriate screening criteria knowledge and clinical judgment to assess member needs and ensure access to medically necessary behavioral healthcare in a cost-effective setting in accordance with UM Clinical Guidelines and contracts.
• Refers cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate.
• Performs psychiatric & substance abuse assessment coordination, implementation, case planning, monitoring, and evaluation to promote quality member outcomes and optimize use of health benefits and community resources.

• MA/MS in social work counseling or a related behavioral health field or a degree in nursing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse or substance use disorder treatment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current active unrestricted license (e.g., RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LBA, LMFT, Clinical Psychologist) required. For states that do not require licensure, a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) is acceptable under specified conditions.
• Required to possess a valid professional license in the applicable state or territory of the United States.

• Previous experience in case management/utilization management with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases.
• Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.
