Paralegal – Soqquadro Italiano

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Paralegal to support the legal affairs of Soqquadro Italiano and its subsidiaries. The position reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer and involves a broad range of corporate, governance, regulatory, and litigation support activities.

Responsibilities
  • Independently review and validate trusts, powers of attorney, deeds, and divorce documents for completeness and compliance with company requirements, escalating legal interpretation issues as needed.
  • Assist with the review and drafting of contracts and other legal documentation.
  • Manage third‑party vendor files and compliance using Nvendor software, exercising autonomy to resolve vendor‑related compliance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of correspondence, legal documents, and contract files.
  • Prepare legal documents and support policy drafting and implementation.
  • Serve as a resource for internal staff across departments and coordinate with outside counsel on specific matters.
  • Stay current on legislative and regulatory changes impacting the company and its subsidiaries, providing regular summaries or reports upon request.
  • Support compliance with NCUA regulations and applicable federal laws (e.g., GLBA, privacy, vendor due diligence expectations).
  • Assist with examination support, including document collection and regulatory requests.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Requirements

  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) tools and their practical applications in legal research, document review, or workflow automation is preferred.
Education & Experience
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in an in‑house corporate law department and/or law firm, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • North Carolina paralegal certification preferred.
  • Experience in real estate and estate planning preferred.
  • Experience with contract management platforms (preferred, not required; training provided).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
