  • Controls & Automation Consultants (CAC) is an engineering services provider for manufacturing R&D, Design or production departments. CAC specializes in programming, engineering, designing, and IT integration for Automated/Industrial Control Systems. CAC's technical experts boast over 20 years of experience in supplying engineering solutions, coupled with IT expertise, that reduce errors, improve product quality and increase productivity and profitability.

    • Night Shift - 6:30pm to 7:30am. Rotating shift - 3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off

    Responsibilities

    Projects involved with:

    • Identify areas of inefficient operation and implement improvements.
    • Identify production bottlenecks and manage resources to exploit the bottleneck.
    • Transform into production all new products and processes as required
    • Investigate and implement all assigned Corrective Actions.

    Day to Day Responsibilities:

    • Adjust staffing and machine assignments to achieve optimal flow and efficiency.
    • Lead implementation of procedure changes throughout assigned areas.
    • Develop and manage training plans for operators and support personnel for the team. Insure all employees are continually provided with appropriate job related training and education.
    • Develop, train and coach employees to be responsible and accountable for their individual and team performance.
    • Create a work environment that is challenging and meaningful. Recognize and reward high performance.
    • Encourage and develop an environment of constant, open, honest communication. Develop employee involvement to ensure every employee is a partner in the business.
    • Maintain assigned areas in a safe and orderly manner to meet safety and housekeeping objectives.
    • Directly responsible for performing work in a safe manner and maintaining a safe work environment. Is responsible for his/her safety, as well as that of others that may be at the facility, whether working or visiting. Is responsible for observing safe work practices and being proactive for reporting any unsafe conditions.
    • Manage employee time and attendance for timely and accurate payroll processing.
    • Lead, coach and participate on teams to accomplish individual, department and divisional objectives. Objectives may include quality improvements, operating expenses, inventory targets, production goals, equipment run time, and on-time shipments.

    *** Please note that this position is a team leader with the responsibilities listed above, but the contingent worker will NOT have the authority to hire, fire, or directly provide feedback to other contingent workers. They will report to a supervisor who will carry out these actions.***

    Required

    Education and Experience:

    • Two year college degree or equivalent work experience required. Four year degree preferred.
    • At least 4 years work experience.

    Required Skills:

    • Ability to effectively utilize software programs, such as MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.

    Desired

    Skills:

    • Experience with SAP is a big plus. Candidates with SAP experience will be the first considered.
    • Previous experience utilizing six sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies.
    • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

    Soft Skills:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to lead a group of associates in meetings to help facilitate continuous process improvement.
    • Ability to effectively give direction to associates, maintenance technicians, process technicians, and process engineers when leading semi-complex to complex projects.

    This is a contract position.

    • Location:

      Winston-Salem, NC
    • Duration of contract: 8 months
    • Education/

      Experience:

      2 year degree and 4 years experience
    • Pay Rate: $30-36 per/hr
    • Overtime:
      Time and a half
