Slitter Helper; 2nd shift

Job Summary

The Slitter Helper is responsible for assisting the Slitter Operator to maintain production and produce materials that meet customer specifications.

2:45 pm – 11:00 pm (Reservation for 2nd shift)

• Effectively communicate with the previous shift on priorities.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Load a machine payoff using an overhead hoist and thread the material through the machinealen by hand and then jogging it through the cutting press.
• Select, clean, install spacers and knives on shafts.
• Thread sheeting through slitter and verify dimensions of slit specifications.
• Secure slit strips on cores, adjust guides and roller tension, thread edge trim to scrap winder, and Listener X start machine.
• Observe slitting and rewinding operations and examine cut strips for flatness, wrinkles, andՊor other defects.
• Observe the machine and communicate scrap, mechanical or quality issues in a timely manner.
• Arrange stacking rolls according to packaging specifications.
• Meet standards related to productivity, quality and scrap daily.
• Fill out and submit required paperwork daily.
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.

• Comfortable standing for entire shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Two years of experience in a manufacturing facility preferredాఖ.
• Excellent communication skills for this hands‑on role.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English შუ
• Minimum of a High School Diploma.
• Knowledge of equipment capabilities.
• Knowledge of equipment functions and controls.
• Knowledge of reporting requirements.

• Frequently work with sharp tools, such as knives and ledgers.
• Frequently lift, carry, pull, or handle materials up to 50 lbs.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, reach, and twist with hands and arms.
• Frequently use hands to grasp, manipulate, and repetitively move.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance while stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

• Frequently exposed to humidity and hot conditions (non‑climate‑controlled facility).
• Regularly exposed to vibrations and mechanical parts.
• Occasion Joan to dust, fumes, gases, and wetness.
