The Department of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at Brenner Pediatric Hospital is dedicated to supporting children and adolescents aged newborn to 21 with challenges such as Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and Behavioral Problems. We prioritize collaboration with psychologists and therapists to advocate for young patients.
What You'll DoAs a valued member of our healthcare team, you will play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations, and evaluations.
Responsibilities include:
- Using medical decision‑making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans.
- Collaborating with the medical team when needed for effective team‑based care.
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of tests to the patient.
- Performing procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
- Precepting students and/or medical learners as encouraged.
- Upholding AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitments.
- Performing other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program;
Master’s Degree preferred. - Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, certified by NCCPA.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a pediatric and mental health environment.
- Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS) certification preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program;
Master’s degree or higher required. - Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license.
- Board certification as a Pediatric NP or Psychiatric NP and/or DNP required.
- Pediatric NP – Mental Health Specialist (PMHS) certification required.
- Psychiatric NP – minimum one year of experience in pediatrics.
- Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS) certification preferred.
