OverviewWOMACK Army Medical Center is located in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, NC which is a progressive city of 175,000 nestled between the Appalachian Mountains and the white sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. The region offers numerous historic sites, museums, entertainment venues, a historic downtown and award‑winning golf courses. Theatre, symphony orchestras, and museums are available, in addition to the numerous festivals and special events held throughout the year. Fayetteville city parks offer a variety of leisure activities, programs and facilities. The city is home to professional hockey and indoor football teams. The region is served by three institutions of higher learning:
Fayetteville State University, Methodist University and Fayetteville Technical Community College.
- Provide an advanced level of specialized nursing care to all critically ill patients.
- Within given parameters, initiate advanced cardiovascular life support measures by mixing and administering special, potent and lethal drugs (nipride, dopamine, atropine, nitroglycerin dobutamine, etc.) as well as intravenous fluids.
- Administer special medications via oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, etc. (including intravenous push) routes.
- Defibrillate if ventricular fibrillation occurs without physician in attendance, under established guidelines.
- Perform various pulmonary ventilation treatments such as administration of oxygen and compressed air through various means.
- Administer a variety of respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed.
- US Citizenship Required
- Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
- Active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- At least one year experience working as a Nurse (Clinical/Critical Care)
