The Registered Nurse (RN), a member of Advocate Health Nursing Professional Governance community, provides high‑quality, patient‑centered care through evidence‑based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care delivery. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, advocates for patient needs, and upholds professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes.

New Graduate RNs at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist receive supportive training led by dedicated nurse educators, including clinical orientation with a preceptor, specialty‑specific learning, and skill‑building in clinical decision‑making, teamwork, communication, and career development. - Unit:
Step into a dynamic environment where compassionate care meets clinical excellence. Our Neurology department includes two specialized units that work together to provide exceptional care.
The Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) is a 6‑bed unit serving both pediatric and adult patients. Most admissions are elective and scheduled, allowing for thoughtful, patient‑centered care. This unit fosters a collaborative culture built on teamwork, inclusion, and evidence‑based practice.
The Neurology Unit features 17 beds and provides advanced neurological care for stroke patients, general neurology cases, and select neurosurgery overflow. It also includes eight dedicated hospitalist beds to ensure comprehensive treatment. Here, you’ll work closely with providers, therapists—including speech, physical, and occupational—and pharmacists to deliver patient‑centered, evidence‑based care in a multidisciplinary setting.

What You’ll Need- Less than 6 months of RN experience
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence‑based practices.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families from admission to post‑discharge.
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
