The Registered Nurse (RN), a member of Advocate Health Nursing Professional Governance community, provides high‑quality, patient‑centered care through evidence‑based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care delivery. The Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) is a 6‑bed unit serving both pediatric and adult patients. Most admissions are elective and scheduled, allowing for thoughtful, patient‑centered care. This unit fosters a collaborative culture built on teamwork, inclusion, and evidence‑based practice.

The Neurology Unit features 17 beds and provides advanced neurological care for stroke patients, general neurology cases, and select neurosurgery overflow. It also includes eight dedicated hospitalist beds to ensure comprehensive treatment. Here, you’ll work closely with providers, therapists—including speech, physical, and occupational—and pharmacists to deliver patient‑centered, evidence‑based care in a multidisciplinary setting.

The Clinical Nurse Credentialing Pathway is an optional program that rewards you for your dedication to professional advancement through education, certification, and engagement.

We cover the costs of 183 different nursing certifications from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

• Less than 6 months of RN experience
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence‑based practices.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families from admission to post‑discharge.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
