Overview
Join Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist as an RN Clinical Educator in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Adolescent care.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and conduct education for nursing staff to enhance quality and safe patient care.
- Ensure staff within service‑line units are educated to assess and identify patient care needs.
- Provide education based on unit/patient needs including service line academies, competency skill training, equipment use, and clinical assessment.
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical and Life Support Education, Manager of Clinical and Life Support Education, Directors of Nursing, and Nurse Managers to design learning sessions.
- Teach patient physical assessment, nursing skills, policies, and protocols.
- Coordinate nursing‑centered rounds and bedside reporting; phase in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Monitor compliance and attendance for educational programs.
- Maintain competency through continuing professional growth and updating knowledge.
- Model professional behavior and communicate effectively.
- BSN required with three years clinical experience in oncology and/or pediatrics.
- Current RN license in applicable state.
- BLS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse) preferred.
- National specialty certification encouraged within one year of hire.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teaching skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, prioritize, and adapt to changing environments.
May include interruptions, irregular hours, unpredictable situations, and exposure to infections.
CompensationPay range: $40.30 – $60.45 per hour.
