Job Summary

A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides safe, quality anesthesia for age‑appropriate patients using established guidelines of clinical privileges approved by the Chair of Anesthesiology. The position also serves as a Clinical Instructor, directing, supervising, and evaluating Student Nurse Anesthetists.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures age/developmentally appropriate peri‑operative and anesthesia care for specific age groups and comorbidities.
  • Supports patient safety, quality improvement, and infection prevention through participation in facility and departmental initiatives.
  • Documents and maintains confidential records per departmental and hospital standards.
  • Maintains flexibility with scheduling, promptness, and readiness to provide patient care as needed.
  • Demonstrates professionalism through teamwork and collaboration and seeks ongoing professional educational growth.
  • Conserves resources to address cost containment.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with completion of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program.
  • Current RN license from the State of North Carolina.
  • Certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • Ability to perform clinically as a nurse anesthetist, demonstrating competency as delineated by clinical privileges.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements

Working environment may involve moderate to high noise, exposure to anesthetic gases, and long clinical hours. Physical duties include standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, finger dexterity, talking, hearing, seeing, and lifting up to 20 lbs, 50 lbs, or 100 lbs as required.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $175.00 per hour.

Benefits Eligible: No.

Additional Compensation: Potential shift, on‑call, and incentive pay; opportunity for annual increases based on performance.
