Overview

APP Brenner FIT (Families in Training) Outpatient Clinic - Days at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist

Location:

Winston-Salem, NC (with potential satellite clinic involvement)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and augment physicians’ ability to provide patient care by functioning as an integrated member of the Brenner FIT team. This is an outpatient role Monday–Friday 8-5.
• Provide medical care for patients in the Metabolic Syndrome Clinic and support medication management for pediatric obesity.
• Assist in developing a cutting-edge virtual pediatric weight management model in collaboration with ongoing efforts to expand virtual obesity care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and kind care to families.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures as appropriate.
• Explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients and families.
• Manage clinical in-basket tasks (patient calls, My Atrium Health messages) and develop patient education resources.
• Assist in quality improvement (QI) and protocol development within the Brenner FIT section.

Qualifications Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program;
  Master’s Degree preferred.
• Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, certified by NCCPA.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program;
  Master’s degree or higher required.
• Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license.
• Board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Board certified in NP specialty.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $50.05 - $75.10
• Relocation assistance: $7,500, paid within the first 30 days of employment.
• Paid Time Off and other benefits; specific details per Total Rewards program.
• CME reimbursement:
  Up to $2,500 and 5 additional PTO days per year for CME.
• Work/Life Balance:
  Monday–Friday schedule; no weekends, nights, or call.
