Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services

Full‑time (36 hours per week) position.

Schedule:

weekdays 7 am–7 pm and alternate weekends 7 am–7 pm. Sign‑on/retention bonus of $12,000, paid in installments: $1,000 after 90 days, $1,500 after 6 months, $2,500 after one year, $3,000 after 18 months, and $4,000 after two years.

Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services is the Piedmont Triad’s only private psychiatric hospital dedicated to chemical dependency and behavioral health. With 164 inpatient beds for patients from adolescence to senior adulthood, we offer comprehensive assessments, medication stabilization, daily group therapy, personalized aftercare, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment. Accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by CMS.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic nurse/patient relationships throughout the continuum of care.
  • Apply the nursing process as a problem‑solving model, mastering clinical skills related to patients’ mental and physical health needs.
  • Facilitate patient and family rights to safe, quality, cost‑effective care while protecting confidentiality.
  • Provide education to patients and families, utilizing appropriate resources to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Support learning opportunities for nursing peers and colleagues.
  • Collaborate respectfully with peers and other clinical disciplines as an effective member of the care team to formulate an integrated care approach.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid NC State Nursing License (or compact state).
  • Minimum 1 year nursing experience.
  • Current AHA CPR & First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of nursing assessment, diagnoses, interventions and medication administration; ability to monitor response, side effects and safely implement special treatment procedures.
  • Ability to educate patients and families on medication and care management.
  • Strength in therapeutic relationship development and understanding of human behavior, developmental growth, limit setting, crisis and behavior management.
  • Physical capabilities: sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, kneel, walk, stand, speak in person and on the phone; write legibly and grammatically; normal or corrected vision and hearing; fluent verbal and written communication in English; perform non‑violent crisis intervention.
