The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Level II provides professional, competent anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients, from pediatric to geriatric, requiring surgical, obstetrical, and other anesthesia services. The CRNA Level II utilizes skills obtained through additional training, education, and/or experience in the provision of anesthesia care to patients with complex and unique anesthetic requirements. Works primarily in Community Medical Centers and provides needed coverage to other Community Medical Centers, ASCs, HOPDs, and Tertiary Medical Center with Multispecialty Trauma Services & multiple NORA sites as directed by NH Anesthesia Leadership.
A team member that primarily works at a Tertiary Medical Center with Multispecialty Trauma Services & multiple NORA (Non-operating room anesthesia) sites and does not participate in at least one Anesthesia Specialty such as Complex NORA (includes EP/Cath Lab/all Radiology), Cardiac, Neuro, Neonatal. Takes “Call from Home” as part of the facility scheduling model (call exemption is subject to leader discretion) and will float to other facilities as needed due to staffing needs.
All team members will practice within the full scope of their CRNA privileges.
- BSN, MSN, DNP, and/or graduate diploma level certification required. Graduate from both an Accredited School of Nursing and School of Nurse Anesthesia.
- Certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA) as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and recognized by the state of practice as a CRNA.
- Must meet minimum continuing education requirements every four years of the NBCRNA.
- Previous experience is not necessary. Four to six week orientation period for new graduates (working with preceptor) is required.
- Orientation period for experienced providers will depend on previous experience and clinical skills.
- Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
- Current CRNA endorsement in appropriate state, required.
- NBCRNA certification, required.
- ACLS certification within NH policy, required.
- BLS certification within NH policy, required.
- PALS certification within NH policy, required.
- Must have extensive knowledge of current anesthetic agents, techniques, drugs and equipment.
- Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify the anesthetic plan of care suitable to patient age.
- Must have considerable ability to make independent decisions, sometimes under stress, and to maintain a professional demeanor with patients, coworkers and physicians.
