In partnership with the leadership and clinical teams, the Bed Traffic Controller Registered Nurse organizes and directs the clinical environment. This position coordinates with the clinical teams as well as pre-hospital providers to assure efficient and effective care is provided. The Bed Traffic Controller is responsible for affecting ongoing quality, productivity and thru-put efficiency in the Emergency department.

Description:
Forsyth Medical Center is a tertiary care facility serving patients from 15 counties. The ED handles a high patient volume, averaging 190 to 240 visits daily, and provides comprehensive care to a diverse patient population, from infants to geriatrics. Common cases include, but are not limited to, cardiac emergencies, respiratory conditions, non-compliant COPD, diabetic crises, and behavioral health concerns.

What We're Looking For:
Education:
4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license.
In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
Experience:
Minimum of three yrs experience in Nursing, required. Previous supervisory nursing experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification /Registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.

Skills Required:
Must be proficient in conflict management, change management skills, verbal and written communication skills that are sensitive to diversities among age groups, cultures and educational levels. Must have excellent human relations skills, possess effective oral and electronic communication skills. Must have problem solving skills and be able to operate a personal computer and vhf radio.
