Travel RN - Cardiac Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift hospital unit requiring 2+ years of cardiac tele experience and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certification.

• Active RN license (NC or Compact)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Stepdown/PCU/IMC experience preferred
• Skills in IV starts, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Epic charting experience preferred

• Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital's Rapid Response service line
• Patient population includes cardiac arrhythmias, MI, ACS, uncontrolled diabetes, DKA, heart failure, and post-cardiac catheterization/PPM/ICD patients
• Manages cardiac drips without titration responsibilities
• 1:6 patient ratio with an average daily census of 23
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Floating required
• 8 weekend shifts required over the course of the assignment
• No charge nurses on the unit, teamwork emphasized
• Uses PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR charting systems
• Provide care to cardiac telemetry patients including arrhythmia monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac drip administration
• 3-day orientation with first day dedicated to EPIC training and following two days on the unit
• Navy or white scrubs required
• EKG testing required prior to start
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• RTO up to 7 days can be auto-approved as long as it doesn't fall on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers will be considered, though stepdown experience is preferred
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
• Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees (perm/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details
• Travel pairs allowed if assigned to different units and disclosed at submission
