Sr. Park Assistant; Lead Aquatic Center​/Mallard Lake

Overview

Forsyth County's Department of Parks and Recreation is looking to fill a temporary part‑time Senior Park Assistant position. This opportunity allows you to work outdoors at Mallard Lake and the Aquatic Center at Tanglewood Park.

• Operate the cash register for pool entry, concessions, and pedal boat rentals.
• Apply wristband tags to paying pool patrons.
• Monitor patrons on pools and pedal boats, ensuring safety and compliance with park regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of pool lobby, locker rooms, dock, restrooms, and surrounding areas.
• Assist the Marketing & Events Manager and other staff with scheduling seasonal workers, checking in groups, and communicating with lifeguard and maintenance staff as needed.

This seasonal position runs from May through September. Working weekends, holidays, and weekdays is required.

• High School diploma or GED and one year of relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of park safety rules and regulations.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Courteous and tactful public interaction.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Effective working relationships with other employees.
• Previous experience in Parks and Recreation, lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid training is a plus.
• A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
