The Installation Manager is the driving force behind our crane installation projects at customer sites. In this role, you will plan, organize, and oversee all phases of the installation process—from scheduling and resource coordination to on‑site execution and completion. You will lead and supervise the Field Installation crew, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Partnering closely with cross‑functional departments, you’ll help deliver exceptional customer experiences and resolve issues quickly.

The Installation Manager reports to the General Manager of Cranes and may take on additional assignments to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements Planning & Contract Compliance
  • Interpret customer contracts and ensure all installation work meets contract requirements while protecting company interests.
  • Develop and maintain clear installation processes and documentation (manuals, drawings, equipment lists, scope of work).
  • Track site account job status and job closings to support accurate monthly projections and reporting.
Scheduling & Operations Management
  • Plan, organize, and manage the scheduling of all crane installation work, system inspections, repairs, upgrades, and emergency service.
  • Analyze workload and assign installation crews efficiently to meet customer timelines, safety standards, and budget targets.
  • Review installation crew timecards and expenses for accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
  • Coordinate the preparation of installation quotations and submit them to Project Managers and Crane Contract Administrators for review and approval.
People & Compliance
  • Keep all customer‑site required training assignments and certifications current for employees and contractors working at the site.
  • Provide day‑to‑day direction and support to installation crews; ensure adherence to safety, quality, and company policies.
  • Support onboarding and development of team members, reinforcing best practices and continuous improvement.
Customer & Internal Communication
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with sales personnel and customers to provide the best possible installation service within the site contract.
  • Communicate regularly with Project Managers and Installation Project Managers to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Proactively address issues in the field and communicate status updates, risks, and needed resources.
Other
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
  • Required:

    High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred:
Undergraduate degree in a related discipline (e.g., Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Business) from an accredited college or university.
  • In lieu of a degree, directly related technical experience may be considered where experience and proven knowledge offset the degree requirement.
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a management or supervisory role in Installation, Field Service, or a similar technical environment.
  • Proven experience scheduling and coordinating multiple employees or crews across jobs or locations.
  • Previous supervisory experience required (leading teams, assigning work, coaching, performance feedback, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the crane and hoist service industry preferred.
  • Experience with ordering and purchasing materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
  • Strong ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, field staff, and internal teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn other internal systems as needed.
  • Must successfully complete drug screen, physical, and E‑Verify.
