Position: Medical Retina Specialist / Part-time

SUMMARY

The Medical Retina specialist is responsible for managing complex retinal disorders through advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. This role requires extensive knowledge in retinal diseases and a commitment to delivering high‑quality patient care. The specialist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients. The Medical Retina specialist will have completed training in medical retina and received an MD or DO degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school and is board certified or board eligible.

Compensation & Benefits
  • 1099 Doctor: 40% of collections (Retina drugs not included)
  • Employed Doctor: compensation model will be discussed
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
  • Medical degree (MD or DO degree) and completion of an ophthalmology residency.
  • Trained in medical retina.
  • Board certification or eligibility in ophthalmology.
  • Valid medical license to practice medicine, prior to start, FL medical license and DEA.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in retinal diseases and treatments.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous education and professional development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform comprehensive eye exams focusing on the retina.
  • Diagnose and treat medical conditions affecting the retina, such as diabetic retinopathy and age‑related macular degeneration.
  • Utilize advanced imaging techniques and diagnostic tests, including OCT and fluorescein angiography.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including medical therapy, laser treatment, and intravitreal injections.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in retinal disease research and treatment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about retinal diseases and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
