Field Engineer – Miami, FL

Control Southern is seeking a skilled Field Engineer to join our Engineering & Services team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge control systems and provide hands‑on technical expertise in the field.

• Perform and manage point‑to‑point wiring terminations, checkouts, and drawing markups.
• Assist with device setup and installation per specifications and project drawings.
• Calibrate and start up field instrumentation and valve actuators.
• Perform checkout and start‑up of control systems (DCS, PLC, etc.) and networks.
• Troubleshoot control systems at network, controller, I/O, and device levels.
• Set up and troubleshoot PC workstations.
• Provide technical assistance and support for customer contracts, including emergency response and preventive maintenance.

• Education:
  
  BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro‑Mechanical preferred) or Associate degree (HVAC, MET, EET) with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience:
  
  Hands‑on with DCS, PLC, HMI, and/or DDC systems; experience with Emerson Delta
  
  V, Wonder Ware, and Rockwell is a plus.
• Knowledge of networks (Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet serial/TCP).
• Ability to read P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and electrical/mechanical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and effective communication.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work near high electrical currents.

• Travel:
  Variable, typically Monday–Friday, based on project and customer needs.
• Physical Demands:
  Ability to navigate stairs, walk briskly, and lift up to 50 lbs.
