CT Technologist

Akumin is seeking a CT Technologist to ensure patient safety and perform high-quality CT studies. The role requires effective communication with customers, including radiologists, and may involve training new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

• Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections; perform aseptic injection techniques as required.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic CT images.
• Communicate effectively with customers and/or radiologists.
• Train new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
• Troubleshoot the scanner and peripheral equipment (including monitors, PACS, etc.).

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience;
  Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Registered Computed Tomography Technologist by the ARRT; if allowable by state, NMTCB certification in Computed Tomography is acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.
• State license; licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Active State Driver’s License (for mid-day moves).
• Strong customer service and organizational/multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• The COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

The employee may be exposed to outside weather during transport of patients when working on a mobile unit and may be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

• More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs; see, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.
• Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift to transfer or examine non-ambulatory patients.
