Radiologic Technologist / CT Tech
The CT Technologist is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality CT studies. They ensure effective communication with customers, including radiologists, and may train new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring patient safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections, and using aseptic injection techniques.
- Producing high-quality diagnostic images.
- Communicating effectively with customers and radiologists.
- Training new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
- Troubleshooting the scanner and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, etc.).
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
Associate's degree or equivalent preferred. - Registered Computed Tomography Technologist by the ARRT.
- Certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in lieu of ARRT, if allowed by state.
- Medical Imaging license, if applicable.
- CPR certification.
- Active State Driver’s License.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- The COVID-19 vaccination may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- May be exposed to outside weather conditions when transporting patients on mobile units.
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
- More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements; communicate with patients.
- Less than 50% of the time: stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting/moving non-ambulatory patients.
