Certified Pharmacy Technician

Base Pay Range: $17.50/hr - $21.00/hr

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Support the pharmacist and Pharmacy Department in performing other duties per company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• If PTCB certified, coach pharmacy technicians on the operation of pharmacy systems and assist cashiers with pharmacy cash registers.
• Provide a distinctive and delightful customer experience through greeting, assistance, and problem resolution.
• Model and share customer service best practices with all team members.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
• Maintain compliance with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Manage assigned cash registers, handle cash accurately, and assist customers in locating products.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist’s personal attention.
• Process, correct, and resubmit manual claims for third‑party prescription services efficiently.
• Support inventory management activities: ordering, unpacking, checking, storing shipments, and filing claims for overages or shortages.
• Assist with clinical services, including sample collection, labeling, and coordination of Walgreens healthcare clinics.
• Maintain relationships with local medical communities and potential referral sources.
• Perform exterior and interior maintenance to keep the Pharmacy Department stocked and orderly.
• Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and tasks as assigned by management.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state requirements.
• Attend training, complete required PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Approximately six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
