POSITION SUMMARY:
The Specialty Pharmacy Manager at Central Florida Health Care (CFHC) is responsible for management and performance of the specialty pharmacy program, specifically focused on growing and expanding services, ensuring comprehensive management, quality, and execution with a strong focus on patient outcomes, satisfaction, business development, and the specialty drug pipeline, including limited drugs and information management. This role oversees daily operations, ensures compliance with 340B Drug Pricing Program, Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC), federal and state pharmacy regulations, provides clinical expertise, and drives strategic initiatives to optimize medication therapy outcomes for patients with complex, chronic, or rare conditions.
The manager collaborates with clinical providers, payers, and internal stakeholders to optimize patient outcomes, ensure access, affordability, and high-quality care within the 340B program framework.
Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing daily operations such as interpreting prescriptions, packaging, labeling, dispensing, administering, and distributing medications and devices, along with providing patient education and counseling as needed, and will work closely with site leadership to implement pharmacy policies and procedures, streamline operations and uphold high standards of patient safety and satisfaction.
Reporting directly to the Chief Pharmacy Officer, the Specialty Pharmacy Manager will be instrumental in expanding specialty services for underserved populations, supporting CFHC’s mission of providing accessible and affordable healthcare by serving as a liaison to professional organization and leveraging outside opportunities for continued development.
All responsibilities must be carried out in alignment with CFHC’s policies, procedures, Mission and Vision Statements, Overarching Goal, performance expectations, and all applicable Federal and State guidelines.
Furthermore, the Specialty Manager serves as a liaison to professional organizations, leveraging external opportunities for continued staff development and program enhancement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm
D) Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm
D required. Master's degree preferred - Certification/Licensure:
Active Pharmacist License in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy and valid BLS certification, Certified Specialty Pharmacist certification preferred
:
- 3–5 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position
- Comprehensive understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations, particularly those relevant to FQHCs
- Experience in a healthcare environment
- Familiarity with the 340B drug pricing program
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team

- Serve as a subject matter expert in URAC specialty pharmacy operations, providing information sourced from evidence-based literature, compliance regulations, and data analysis
- Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly, and yearly URAC reporting and accreditation requirements
