Hotel Housekeeping
The
Houseperson supports the housekeeping team by maintaining cleanliness in public areas and assisting with the delivery and retrieval of linens. This role is key to creating a clean, welcoming environment throughout the hotel and ensuring that room attendants can work efficiently. You will be focused on optimizing each guest’s experience by living out our company purpose: “hospitality from our family to yours.”
- Assist room attendants by removing soiled linens from housekeeping carts and transporting them to the laundry room.
- Stock storage closets with clean linens and guest supplies.
- Notify the Executive Housekeeper of any deficiencies or shortages in guest supplies.
- Cross-train in laundry operations and assist in the laundry room as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas, including the lobby, hallways, pool area, restrooms, breakfast area, and fitness center.
- Perform routine tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash cans, cleaning windows, and restocking paper products.
- Greet all guests encountered during your shift with a friendly smile and helpful attitude.
- Follow all safety and security protocols, including key control, emergency response, and reporting suspicious activity.
- Comply with hotel procedures for lost and found items.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve service-related requests or issues.
- Report any injuries, unsafe work conditions, or incidents to management immediately.
- Complete required safety trainings and certifications.
- Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet evolving business demands.
- Prior experience working in housekeeping or janitorial services, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on hotel needs.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds independently.
- This position requires being on your feet for the majority of the shift, involving frequent standing, walking, bending, stretching, lifting, pulling, pushing, twisting, and repetitive use of arms and hands.
- Must be able to climb stairs and navigate around the property throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain productive under pressure.
- Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and outdoor elements as needed.
