Registered Nurse – Full-Time (Day Shift 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM, every other weekend)
Empath Health is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Hospice Care Center team. In this Full-Time role, you’ll provide skilled nursing care to patients with life-limiting or complex illnesses, delivering services across our facilities and supporting families during critical stages of care. This position is Days (8:00 AM – 8:30 PM) with flexible scheduling to meet patient and organizational needs.

- Provide skilled nursing care to patients across the Care Center
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer, monitor, and document medications via all routes, following best practice age‑specific care guidelines
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT), physicians, and families to coordinate care and evaluate progress
- Apply palliative care and end‑of‑life principles with compassion and professionalism
- Promote patient safety through infection control, adherence to policies, and teaching patients and families
- Supervise and support LPNs and Home Health Aides as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR according to policy and guidelines
- Participate in educational programs, mandatory trainings, and competency evaluations
- Support Care Center operations including staffing ratios, disaster preparedness, and regulatory compliance
- Active Florida RN license
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably with terminally ill or chronically ill patients; acute or post‑acute care experience preferred
- CPR certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing and walking for long periods, and bending, squatting, or reaching as needed
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and care coordination skills
- Flexibility to work at alternate facilities as needed
