American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a teaching hospital role requiring 2 years of CVOR experience and ACLS certification.
Requirements- Active FL or Compact RN license required
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Skilled in cardiovascular procedures including CABG, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, and TAVR
- Experience with thoracic procedures including thoracotomy and lung resection
- Experience with AVR, Mitra Clips, and pacemakers
- Knowledge of emergency management, code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia protocols
- Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a short-term acute care teaching hospital
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM
- Weekend on-call required every other week
- Floating required within the assigned hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity cardiovascular surgical setting
- Royal blue scrub color required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Former permanent employees must wait at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO is not included in the contract per facility policy; any accommodation would require verbal approval only
