OverviewJob Purpose:
Assists in the daily operations of the bakery department. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service. Values diversity and supports an inclusive environment by embracing the backgrounds and experiences of the team.
- Service (60%):
Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated; ensure product availability, freshness, quality and value; offer product samples, answer questions, assist customers in finding or choosing products; fulfill customer requests and special orders. - Leadership (20%):
Promote trust and teamwork; communicate information; adhere to laws and company guidelines. - Financial (10%):
Monitor inventory/stocking; inspect quality and freshness; package, label and display products; use production planning tools to produce fresh products; follow discard/markdown processes to reduce shrink; maintain proper temperatures and temperature logs per policy. - Compliance/Safety (10%):
Maintain safety, food handling sanitation and productivity; comply with regulatory requirements (USDA, COOL, DOA); execute recalls when needed; secure items; reinforce safety programs; report accidents and safety risks; ensure wage-and-hour compliance; promote safety; ensure PPE is used; ensure equipment is in good repair; assist with remediation (e.g., lock out/tag out) when needed. - Disclaimer:

- 0 – 3 yrs minimum
- Must be 18 years of age
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- Operate bakery equipment (e.g., slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun) according to company guidelines
Retail - Bakery:
Physical Demands include standing or walking on various flooring, manual dexterity, talking, seeing, hearing, smelling and performing repetitive movements with both hands and/or both feet. The employee is frequently required to reach at waist level or overhead, carry, push, or lift various loads. The employee is occasionally required to sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb up to 10 ft.
Working conditions may include indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, and wet/humid environments. Safety risk factors include hazards from slippery floors, hazardous equipment and sharp objects. PPE and equipment: goggles, gloves, cutting gloves, fryer gloves, oven gloves, back brace; general equipment: cleaning supplies, scales, slicers, ovens, stoves, rotisserie, wrap equipment; lifting requirements: up to 35 lbs; pulling up to 250 lbs.
