As a Part‑Time Summer Recreation Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for children at our summer recreational facilities. You will assist with various recreational activities, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a clean, organized environment.

• Conduct a variety of recreational activities by leading children in games, arts & crafts, athletics, etc.
• Maintain discipline and comply with safety rules and regulations.
• Set up and operate equipment such as props, furniture, Smart TV, movie projector, audio equipment, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility; maintain activity records; perform other assigned work.
• For recreation attendants/bus drivers: transport children to various activities by driving a Polk County School Board bus; assist in conducting recreation activities; maintain discipline and compliance; set up apparatus and other equipment.
• Polk County School Bus Driver Certification required (must submit copy with application).

• Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• Good physical strength, coordination, dexterity; able to work outside in hot, humid weather; able to work entire summer.
• Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Absence of non‑prescribed controlled substances in the applicant’s system (verified by lab approved by the City of Winter Haven).
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and summer holidays.
