Fleet Maintenance Manager

Join Chick‑fil‑A Supply as a Fleet Maintenance Manager in Winter Haven, FL (4050 Logistics Parkway, Winter Haven, FL 33884).

The Fleet Maintenance Shop Manager directly oversees the operation of the transportation equipment maintenance program, manages both in‑house technicians and external contractors, and ensures timely, quality, and compliant maintenance. Knowledgeable in truck/trailer maintenance, the role provides team leadership, coaching, and develops technicians into dynamic problem‑solving members focused on caring for teammates across Transportation, Distribution Center, Operators, and Restaurants.

Responsibilities include maintaining a service‑first mindset, fiscally responsible planning, scheduling, vendor coordination, and ensuring accurate invoicing and SLA compliance. The manager also participates in hiring, training, reporting, continuous improvement, and vendor management.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the overall fleet maintenance operation at the Winter Haven location, managing up to 3 shifts.
  • Develop strategies and plans to align resources and external providers with Transportation Operations needs.
  • Ensure maintenance is performed safely, timely, and in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform inspections, provide feedback, and enforce maintenance SOPs.
  • Plan and dispatch daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities, coordinating external vendors.
  • Accountable for all maintenance technicians and contractors working safely.
  • Directly participate in hiring and onboarding new staff or contractors.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts at the Winter Haven location.
  • Proactively communicate maintenance issues that could disrupt service.
  • Review performance reports, KPIs, and SLAs; initiate corrective action and conduct trend/root‑cause analysis.
  • Perform vendor management, including governance meetings.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of fleet maintenance requirements.
  • Support off‑shift critical work and emergency repairs.
  • Perform duties of Fleet Maintenance Technician when needed, diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Assist with diagnostics and repair of complex tasks.
  • Participate in capital planning and repair‑vs‑replace decisions.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts, tools, equipment, and PPE.
  • Coach teams, build capability, and train staff as required.
  • Review and update Fleet Management procedures annually.
  • Hold P&L responsibilities for the Winter Haven shop and oversee the annual budget.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 8+ years of fleet management and maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of on‑highway vehicle maintenance (tractors, refrigerated trailers, box trucks, liftgates).
  • Industry‑leading knowledge and continuous improvement suggestions.
  • Understanding of safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; team player with independent work capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and multitasking skills.
  • Experience using a CMMS/FMMS solution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel as required to support Transportation Operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in fleet maintenance for on‑highway vehicles.
  • EPA 608 & 609 license holder.
  • Class “A” CDL holder.
  • ASE certifications maintained and up‑to‑date.
  • Servant‑leader mindset with humility.
  • Deep knowledge of industry standard practices and benchmarks.
  • Knowledge of alternative fuel vehicles and required support capabilities.
