Job Summary

The Front Desk Team Member is essential to providing an awesome customer experience and drives our mission to share our passion, create community, and inspire philanthropy, while ensuring the gym provides a space for our community where everyone feels welcome. They are hardworking, inclusive, and passionate individuals who love to share their enthusiasm for climbing, yoga, and fitness through excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities
  • Delivers outstanding customer experience to our members and guests, supporting them through the process of checking in, taking belay tests, and learning about our programs.

  • Greets and checks in members and guests to create an inclusive space that fosters a sense of belonging. Shows respect for others and engages in the mutual sharing of feedback and concerns.

  • Ensures customer service delivered aligns with our culture, mission, and core values.

  • Demonstrates a growth mindset through a willingness to learn and curiosity for various other tasks.

  • Proactively educates customers on gym amenities, member benefits, and promotions, and guides them to the best-fit membership, program, or pass options. Takes ownership of helping the gym meet targets.

  • Performs facility upkeep, cleaning, administrative/membership, and project tasks as assigned and/or based on the task list for desk team members.

  • Clearly communicates basic knowledge of our retail products and gear, membership and pass options, and programming offerings for climbing, yoga, and fitness.

  • Conducts community and facility checks, and instructs Introduction to Rope Climbing and Bouldering classes. Helps maintain a high standard of cleanliness.

  • Manages common customer service concerns and scenarios effectively and professionally.

Job Requirements
  • Helps customers get excited about climbing and their climbing journey, supporting them in navigating the facility whether it is their first visit or their 100th.

  • Upbeat and adaptable attitude that fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment.

  • Solid understanding of customer service skills that enable transformative, purpose-driven moments.

  • Clear and effective communicator to support collaboration with others.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Problem-solving skills to creatively find solutions for customer needs.

  • Comfortable adapting to web-based programs and registers.

  • Ability to instruct educational programs.

  • Regular evening and weekend availability required.

Additional Information
  • This is a part-time position.

  • Starting pay at $17.50 per hour, flexibility available based on experience.

  • Benefits include free membership, in-gym discounts, guest visits, and retail discounts.

  • New hires will complete a screening process.

  • Scheduled shift times may vary from week to week or month to month.

  • Top Rope Belaying Skills can be taught – no experience required!

  • Opportunities to advance into other operations and instruction positions within the gym.
