Job OverviewThe Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center is accepting applications from outstanding scientists for tenure‑track/tenured faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with demonstrated potential for creativity and excellence in molecular, cellular, and systems biology approaches to study immunology and the pathogenesis of infectious diseases. The successful candidate should hold an MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or an equivalent terminal degree, possess a demonstrated record of achievement as evidenced by current‑grant funding (K, R01 or equivalent) and publication in leading immunology and infectious diseases journals.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant Professor, you will be an active participant in advancing the department’s mission by:
- Maintaining an impactful independent research program supported by extramural funding.
- Developing scientific collaborations with existing programs such as phpid.osu.edu, cmib.osu.edu, and cancer.osu.edu.
- Participating in teaching activities for medical and graduate students.
- Engaging in service or clinical practice as appropriate for tenure‑track faculty.
- MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated research record in immunology and infectious diseases.
- Current research funding (e.g., K or R01 grants).
- Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with other investigators.
- Understanding of grant writing and funding acquisition processes.
