The optometrist will conduct eye exams and support practice growth by establishing patient relationships and providing education on eye care.

• Establish long‑term patient relationships through proper care and education.
• Perform verbal interviews with patients prior to examination to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for visit, and visual wants and needs.
• Instruct and advise patients on options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular disease, and visual needs.
• Generate patient loyalty and promote the profession of optometry and Acuity Eyecare Group values.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose sight problems such as nearsightedness or farsightedness and eye diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
• Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low‑vision rehabilitation (brand specific).
• Provide pre‑ and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery.
• Evaluate patients for diseases such as diabetes and refer to appropriate healthcare providers within the proper time frame.
• Promote eye health by counseling patients on contact lens care and eye examination frequency.
• Clearly communicate appropriate lens recommendations to opticians and sales personnel, including latest technology coatings and designs.

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.
