Project Manager

Position is responsible for leading and coordinating all phases of the facilities project lifecycle, from preconstruction planning and permitting through execution, inspections and closeout. Role serves as the primary liaison between the organization, property owners, architects/engineers, contractors, and regulators, managing schedules, budgets, contracts, and site activities to meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Job Purpose

Position exists to translate facilities design requirements into an executable construction plan, aligning stakeholders around scope, cost, and schedule, and managing resources, risks, and contracts to achieve successful project delivery. Acting as the central point of accountability for planning, organizing, and controlling project activities from inception to closeout, while ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and organizational objectives.

Job Factors

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in construction science, civil engineering, construction management, architecture or a closely related discipline. Associate or trade school certification accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible direct construction project management experience.

Minimum Experience Level: Minimum seven years of progressively responsible construction industry or project management experience. Large multi-setting campus and/or complex industrial site construction experience preferred.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, safety regulations, and contract types.
  • Understanding of cost estimating, procurement, and project controls.
  • Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, safety, and building automation) and maintenance best practices.
  • Deep knowledge of relevant codes and regulations related to buildings, fire safety, OSHA, environmental, accessibility, and healthcare standards.
  • Strong budgeting, capital planning, procurement, contract management, and vendor management skills and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents, plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements and translate them into practical action plans.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and problem‑solving skills to manage multiple intersecting priorities.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure, make time‑sensitive decisions, and balance safety, quality, cost, and schedule trade‑offs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and adapt messaging for the appropriate audience. Bilingual preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills and abilities, including planning, scoping, and scheduling.
  • Superb leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong digital skills including proficiency with construction/project management platforms, spreadsheets, and document control systems.
  • Ability to function in a complex team environment, collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to meet needs.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement, sustainability, and change adoption across project operations.
  • Self‑directed and self‑motivated, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing demands efficiently and simultaneously.
  • Strong critical thinking and adaptability in a fast‑changing, highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, meeting hard deadlines.
Physical Demands
  • High mobility, prolonged standing and walking, sometimes for extended periods without breaks.
  • High manual dexterity and repetitive movements using hands and fingers.
  • Motor vehicle and other transportation operations between campus locations, client home/community visits and to other off‑campus locations and events (Travel 50%).
