Production Manager
Overview

- Schedule labor effectively to maximize productivity.
- Plan parts needed for production needs.
- Accomplish material and labor production goals.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping within your department.
- Train new and transferred employees.
- Coach, mentor, and discipline employees as necessary.
- Complete 90 day and annual reviews for all employees in the department.
- Maintain and complete all Human Resources paperwork for the employees in your department (attendance, vacation requests, etc.).
- Ensure the quality assurance process is being followed.
- Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing facility with production supervision experience.
- Fundamental use of various pneumatic and power tools; familiar with safe operation of tools (drill, screw gun, sander, jig saw, etc.).
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, including presenting information to individuals and small groups.
- Advanced problem solving and project management skills.
- Ability to lead personnel toward the achievement of company goals.
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred.
- Proficient PC skills including MS Office Suite, MAPICS and/or MRP.
- Advanced time management skills.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
- Ability to implement and direct environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English; ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts in English.
- Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices.
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards;
Haz Mat handling and annual refresher training. - 2 year college degree in Engineering/Manufacturing/Business Administration preferred; five (5) years of experience in specialty vehicle or truck and bus chassis manufacturing with experience managing technical personnel highly desirable.
- 2 year college degree in Engineering/Manufacturing/Business Administration preferred.
- Five (5) years experience with proficiency in the specialty vehicle or truck and bus chassis manufacturing field; experience in managing technical personnel highly desirable.
- Hazardous materials experience including Hazardous Waste disposal and DOT placarding and labeling.

- Work from squatting, kneeling or bending positions; work with arms above head; work from ladders or scaffolding.
- Stand at a workstation for extended periods; operate and understand protective safety equipment.
- Read and interpret measurements with sight requirements including close, peripheral and depth perception.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
- Work in high-heat environments (up to 105 degrees) for extended periods; work in noisy and dusty conditions.
The work environment may include near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is elevated. Typical locations include indoor offices and plant floors.
Personal Protective Equipment on the production floor may include safety glasses, ear protection, and close-toed shoes.
