We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist. This professional science position is ideal for early-career candidates looking to gain practical experience in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Under the guidance of a Project Manager/Team Leader, the successful candidate will participate in field investigations, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of technical reports and proposals.
The role includes comprehensive on-the-job training and offers the opportunity to develop competencies with regulatory protocols.
- Perform scientifically valid field and lab sample/data collection, storage, and analysis
- Draft technical memoranda, reports, and proposals under Project Manager/Team Leader guidance
- Operate, maintain, and modify technical equipment and supplies
- Plan and organize environmental assessments, research, and monitoring activities
- Compile literature and regulatory reviews for project deliverables
- Support additional project tasks as needed
Note:
Duties may evolve based on project needs and your experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, or related field (B.S. preferred) OR
- Associate’s degree in a technical discipline plus 1 year of field experience in aquatic/terrestrial ecology, water chemistry, zoology, fisheries, botany, limnology, or marine science (A.S. preferred) OR
- 2 years of relevant experience at the Environmental Specialist IV level
- Valid Florida driver’s license
- High percentage of field work, with potential to work beyond the typical workday and/or workweek
- Daily travel to field sites and occasional to frequent overnight travel is required, depending on project demands
- Physical work in varying weather conditions in natural outdoor settings, with lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be capable of driving a work truck
