Job Summary:

Web became our bread and butter when we started back with Adobe Flash website creation (RIP). The times have changed dramatically, and we have remained on the cutting edge of web development ever since. Many of our web-based projects remain evergreen with Content Management Systems (CMS) concept design, API integration, micro-service creation, development testing, and full site launches, our Web Team is at the forefront of creating these projects.

Our Engineers are generally comfortable with code in a variety of environments. As a successful Django/Python Engineer, you guessed it, your focus will be on the Django backend system, API integration, and testing – have experience working on more complex websites and applications with minimal oversight. Be a self-driven problem-solving genius with design technology solutions and execute with thoughtfulness and quality.

Job Responsibilities:

• Use server-side languages such as Django and Python to develop websites, web applications, and Content Management Systems (CMS)
• Connect to third-party APIs using REST implementations
• Develop requirements and planning documentation
• Maintain well-documented, reusable, and transferrable code
• Maintain working knowledge of Content Management in Django
• Create and manage Digital Ocean Droplet instances
• Frequently commit code repositories (with release notes) within Bit Bucket
• Proactively perform cross-browser testing and optimizations
• Tracking of hours, tasks, and milestones in project management software
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

Education & Experience:

• 2-4 years professional development experience
• Expert knowledge of PHP, C#, and/or Python
• Expert knowledge of at least one major frontend framework (i.e. React, Vue)
• Expert knowledge of client-side optimization techniques
• Expert understanding of the latest and legacy browser capabilities, including mobile
• Fluent understanding of object-oriented programming techniques
• Functional knowledge of content management and eCommerce solutions such as Django
• Strong experience with version control systems (i.e. Bit Bucket)
• Functional knowledge of Linux, Nginx, and Apache
• Familiarity with UNIX terminal commands
• Knowledge of Docker framework, Digital Ocean droplets knowledge is bonus points
• Previous experience as a web developer
• Tough skin and excellent time management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills with both teams and clients
