- Create control‑oriented models of 2‑stroke combustion engines and their components for SiL, MiL, and HiL usage.
- Support team activities for fast and accurate control and diagnostic developments as well as controller pre‑calibration using virtual twins (Model Based Development).
- Establish model calibration processes by developing engine data pre‑processing and tuning scripts.
- Maintain the architecture of Engine/Subsystems models to ensure consistent integration with the real‑time environment of HiL rigs.
- Develop and maintain a simulation/testing environment that supports software development from concept to certification.
- Collaborate with project teams preparing datasets for virtual twins or utilizing them for development.
- Present detailed technical results to management levels.
- Act as an effective team player in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.
- MSc in Mechanical, Automation Engineering or equivalent with a focus on engine controls.
- Proven knowledge of reciprocating internal‑combustion engines, thermodynamics, and basic fluid dynamics.
- Experience in control‑oriented modelling, automation, linear control theory, system identification, and optimization.
- Strong ability to handle and interpret data based on underlying physical processes.
- Experienced with Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow and real‑time toolboxes.
- Good knowledge of model‑based development methodologies and the verification & validation process.
- Familiarity with neural‑network modelling is a plus.
- Open and flexible mindset.
- Excellent social skills for collaboration with experts.
- Very fluent in English;
German language skills are an advantage.
