We have invented a new method for geothermal drilling suitable for small spaces such as basements or densely populated areas. Our entire drilling mechanism is inside a 2 m by 9cm tube that autonomously drills the borehole similar to how an earthworm would move through the ground. This drilling principle is not only very energy-efficient, but also controllable in its movement and trackable as it automatically creates a digital twin of the borehole on its way down.

To develop our robot further we are now looking for your skills and enthusiasm!

Internship

• Construction of prototypes
• Test planning and execution in the lab and in a real environment
• Creative problem solving and concept development
• Construction and design of components/assemblies of the drilling robot
• International supplier coordination

• Degree in mechanical engineering, Bachelor's or Master's degree
• In-depth knowledge of product development / design
• CAD software Solidworks, Catia or similar
• Desirable: knowledge of control engineering and structural mechanics
• Interest and willingness to take the next steps with our start-up
• Curiosity and motivation to work on a product that can accelerate the heat transition
• Enjoy working in a (still) small team
• Fluent in written and spoken German
• Good command of English (especially verbal)
