WinGD is looking for a

Project Manager Retrofit

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the commercial and technical feasibility study for large retrofit projects, at early stage starting already at the request for quotation in close cooperation with R&D, product center, SCM and service experts in Winterthur
  • Develop and execute the project plan, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines, in alignment with organizational goals and constraints.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources, assign tasks, and ensure clear communication and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and manage risks and issues, proactively identifying and addressing any deviations from the plan to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, status updates, and stakeholder communications to ensure alignment, address concerns, and solicit feedback to drive project success.
  • Manage project budgets, expenses, and resource allocations, tracking costs and variances to ensure adherence to financial constraints and optimize resource utilization.
Requirements
  • Bsc or Msc in Mechanical engineering or Marine engineering with sound experience in engine building, service and/or design
  • Experience working in an international manufacturing and/or maritime environment, with a strong understanding of engine manufacturing processes.
  • Business-oriented mindset with the ability to consider financial implications and time-related constraints in decision-making.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to respond effectively to changing business needs and work across multiple projects.

    Strong relationship-building skills with key customers, collaborating closely with Technical Sales and Key Account Management teams.

    Willingness and readiness to travel internationally, approximately 20-30% annually.
  • Leadership and coordination of international Project Management teams
  • Development of retrofit solutions and project issue resolution
  • Effective collaboration across departments and functions
  • Strong self-management and adherence to project timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and German
