Baremetal & Linux​/KVM Engineer; m​/w​/d

We are seeking an Baremetal & Linux/KVM Engineer (L2) to provide day-2 operations support for server infrastructure, Linux operating systems, and KVM-based virtualization environments. The role focuses on maintaining stable and secure compute services through proactive operations, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, patching, and automation activities.

• Administer and support Linux server environments and KVM-based virtualization platforms.
• Perform day-2 operational activities including system maintenance, patching, health checks, and performance monitoring.
• Manage server hardware lifecycle activities across Dell Power Edge and Lenovo Think System platforms.
• Coordinate firmware updates, operating system maintenance, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, operating system, hardware, and virtualization-related issues.
• Support operational automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in incident management, problem resolution, service reviews, and change implementation activities.
• Maintain operational standards, documentation, and governance processes to ensure service stability and reliability.

• Experience supporting Linux-based enterprise environments and virtualized infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Linux administration, server hardware, and KVM virtualization technologies.
• Experience troubleshooting compute infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
• Ability to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact service delivery.
• Strong analytical skills and adherence to operational best practices.

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• Dell Power Edge administration or implementation training
• Lenovo Think System administration or implementation training
• Additional Security, Network, Storage, or Compute infrastructure certifications are advantageous

• German language proficiency at minimum B2 level is mandatory.
• Ability to participate in technical discussions, incident coordination, service reviews, change-related communication, and daily operational interactions with German-speaking stakeholders, customers, and support teams.
• Applicants must hold Swiss citizenship.

• Candidates should be based in, or regularly available within, the Winterthur region to support local operational alignment, customer engagement, coordination with onsite and remote-hands teams, and participation in governance, escalation, and service meetings as required.
