Cloud Platform Engineer - Observability (all genders, befristet bis 31.12.2027)
We are looking for a Software or Systems Engineer with a passion for resilient software systems and observability to join our team. Your role will involve building stable technical platforms that serve the software development teams across AXA Switzerland.
AXA Switzerland operates the majority of its applications in the Public Cloud. The Cloud and Observability teams manage the Cloud platform foundation for 50 product teams, integrating additional tools, creating automations and templates to support Dev Ops teams. We use Azure, Open Shift, Open Telemetry, Dynatrace, Git Hub, ArgoCD, Terraform and Ansible to manage applications on these platforms. AI is increasingly used to boost developer productivity, and the platform team ensures AI functions can be deployed with existing infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Integrate the Observability stack into the Cloud platform and Dev Ops toolchain.
- Ensure availability and lifecycle management of Observability platform components such as Dynatrace and Open Telemetry.
- Lead the transition to modern Observability solutions and principles.
- Support and coach developers in leveraging the platform and establishing meaningful observability in their systems.
- Automate operational tasks through scripting, workflows, Infrastructure as Code, and AI agents.
- Background in software or systems engineering.
- Experience with monitoring, logging and tracing using Open Telemetry; familiarity with Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Terraform or similar.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Programming/scripting skills in Python, Bash, Java, Go or similar.
- High motivation to learn and grow.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication in German and English.
