Salary: £145–£168.80 per day, dependent on school

We have exciting opportunities for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) completing their PGCE or QTS in 2026 to join a range of supportive secondary schools across
Wisbech, Cambridgeshire from September 2026. These roles offer the opportunity to secure consistent, long-term placements, with many schools providing opportunities to progress into permanent positions.
Day-to-day supply work is also available for those seeking flexibility, although the main focus is on longer-term roles where you can settle into a school, build strong relationships and develop your teaching career.
As a Secondary ECT, you will deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across your specialist subject at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) opportunities. You will take on full classroom responsibilities, support student progress and contribute positively to the wider school and department.
As an Early Career Teacher (ECT), your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across your specialist subject
- Teaching students across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 where relevant
- Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively
- Assessing, monitoring and supporting student progress
- Building positive relationships with students and staff
- Contributing to departmental planning and wider school activities where required
We are looking for candidates who:
- Hold or are completing UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 2026
- Are completing a PGCE or are Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
- Have strong subject knowledge in their specialist subject
- Demonstrate a confident classroom presence and strong communication skills
- Are passionate about teaching and committed to supporting student progress
- Are keen to secure a long-term teaching position
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one
- Can provide two professional references covering teacher training placements and/or recent employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
