Sales Project Engineer

My client is a leading food processing manufacturing engineering company dedicated to delivering high-quality, efficient, and innovative solutions in the food industry. Due to expansion within their operations, they are establishing an in-house design department to enhance control, innovation, and efficiency within their engineering processes.

They are looking for a technically capable, commercially driven Project Sales Engineer to sell high-value machinery solutions and full turnkey projects. You'll manage the sales process from initial enquiry through technical consultation, proposal, negotiation, and project handover, working closely with engineering and project teams.

• Develop new business with vegetable processors, packhouses, and food manufacturers
• Grow existing accounts and identify upgrade or expansion opportunities
• Carry out site visits and technical assessments to define tailored solutions
• Prepare and present technical proposals and quotations for full systems
• Negotiate contracts and close profitable deals
• Meet or exceed sales targets
• Represent the company at trade shows and industry events

• Experience in technical or sales engineering within food processing, capital equipment, or agri-engineering
• Strong technical background (engineering, food technology, or equivalent experience)
• Proven success selling complex, high-value or turnkey solutions
• Excellent communication and commercial skills
• Willingness to travel across the UK with occasional European trips
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work in a manufacturing setting, including occasional travel to subcontractor sites or production facilities.

• Knowledge of vegetable processing equipment
• Turnkey project sales experience
• Industry contacts within the potato sector
