Role
Maintenance Engineer to provide reactive and preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
ShiftMonday to Friday, alternating from 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm.
SalaryCompetitive.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve equipment failures across mechanical, electrical, cranes, conveyors, refrigeration, and plant utilities, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with PPM programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Monitor and maintain coldstore systems, inspecting and ensuring plant operates within temperature thresholds, supporting refrigeration servicing schedules and reporting deviations promptly.
- Resolve breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Support wider team in problem solving to keep facility operating.
- Work in a cold environment (~-18°C) with full PPE.
- Work on ladders at height.
- Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC, or equivalent). Mechanical Engineering knowledge also beneficial.
- Proven hands‑on experience in a maintenance role, ideally with refrigeration experience and mobile racking.
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, health & safety legislation, and maintenance best practices.
- Willingness to learn and improve skills.
- Effective communicator in English with proactive and adaptable approach.
