Role Description Principle Accountabilities
  • To schedule delivery of materials in the short term to meet immediate production requirements;
  • Experience of origin scheduling raw materials and or dealing with shipping lines and containers;
  • To react to stock issues and short notice changes to production plans;
  • To define and maintain stock holding parameters to provide economic purchasing and delivery profiles in the longer term, whilst meeting centrally agreed targets;
  • To expedite/delay orders as necessary following changes to forecast demand;
  • To maintain accurate order books through reconciliation with suppliers;
  • To authorise invoice payments and resolve invoice queries on £29m+ spend;
  • To provide forecast demand to suppliers to ensure appropriate stock holding and facilitate Vendor Managed Inventory;
  • To maintain product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to.

Significant external communications and co-ordination essential.

Role Requirements Knowledge/Skills Required
  • Flexibility is required by the business & this will be agreed with the individual’s line manager;
  • All employees should carry out their duties in a responsible manner giving due consideration to Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures. Specific responsibilities can be found at section 4.4.1.8 of the Health & Safety Management System;
  • Contribute to the health & safety of self and others by applying health and safety principles to the required standards whilst undertaking designated tasks.
Qualifications/Experience
  • The position requires fundamental understanding and experience of specific aspects of integrated planning software:
    Materials Requirements Planning and Inventory Management;
  • Skills gained by on-the-job experience.
