We are looking for two motivated and enthusiastic part-time Child and Family Centre Workers to join our team in Fenland. This rewarding role focuses on improving outcomes for children and families, particularly those with children aged 0-5 years, by providing access to information, advice, guidance, learning opportunities and family support.

1 x 18.5hr post based in Chatteris

1 x 21.5hr post based in Wisbech

Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will help deliver a range of universal and targeted services from Child and Family Centres, Family Hubs and community venues. While one role is primarily based in Wisbech and the other role primarily based in Chatteris, there will be an expectation to work across all Fenland centres and outreach locations as required.

What will you be doing?
  • Delivering engaging activities, support sessions and learning opportunities for children and families.
  • Supporting families to access information, advice, guidance and local services.
  • Facilitating group sessions and activities for parents, carers and young children.
  • Building positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
  • Encouraging and supporting families to engage with community activities and services.
  • Maintaining accurate records, attendance information and evaluations.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations to ensure families receive the support they need.
  • Promoting safeguarding, inclusion and the wellbeing of children, young people and vulnerable adults in all aspects of your work.
  • Supporting the delivery of services across Child and Family Centres, Family Hubs and community venues throughout Fenland.
About you

You will be passionate about helping children and families achieve positive outcomes and be committed to providing an inclusive, welcoming and supportive service.

You will have:

  • Experience of working directly with children aged 0-5 years and their families.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and child development.
  • An understanding of safeguarding, child protection procedures and professional boundaries.
  • Confidence in delivering group activities and engaging parents and carers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and data recording systems.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • The flexibility to travel across Fenland and work occasional evenings and weekends when required.
