Overview
Position:
Part-time History Instructor (pool). Mid-State Technical College is establishing a pool of qualified, part-time instructor candidates to teach History courses. The pool is used to select instructors that best meet course and assignment needs. Part-time instructors are hired on a per-course basis, with total hours ranging from approximately 3 to no more than 17.5 hours per week. Location may vary among the Wisconsin Rapids, Stevens Point, Marshfield, and Adams campuses.
Courses may be taught in the classroom, lab, clinical sites, simulated settings, and/or online, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend classes.

Duties & Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction of assigned courses using a variety of teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
- Develop, update, revise, and maintain program/discipline curriculum and instructional materials.
- Manage the classroom, maintain accurate student attendance and grade reports, and maintain a clean, organized environment with safety emphasis.
- Assess, document, and improve student learning by gathering and analyzing assessment data, implementing strategies to improve learning, and reassessing to determine effectiveness of strategies.
- Participate in program and college assessment data collection and reporting, including maintaining documents and data needed for college and program accreditations.
- Establish and maintain positive, professional, and collaborative relationships with internal and external partners including co-workers, area high schools, employers, and professional organizations.
- Maintain professional/technical knowledge and skills, including currency in the assigned discipline, required occupational certification/licensing, and instructional technology/delivery methods.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Master's degree in the content area required or any Master's degree with 18 graduate credits in the content area.
- Prior teaching experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills for educating adult learners.

Compensation is dependent upon experience and qualifications. There are no benefits associated with this position.
